Currently, the price of 5% broken rice is at 393 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 378 USD/ton, 100% broken rice is 383 USD/ton. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), rice exports from the beginning of the year to August 15, 2022 reached 4.4 million tons, an increase of 19.6% in output over the same period. Export turnover reached 2.1 billion USD, but the value decreased by an average of about 50 USD/ton. Although rice exports increased significantly in output, the selling price was not high. Rice farmers have low efficiency due to high costs of agricultural materials. Vietnam’s rice exports are expected to reach 6.3-6.5 million tons in 2022. Businesses predict that rice exports will continue to grow steadily until the end of the year.
