Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Director of Phuoc Thanh IV Production – Trading Company Limited said that the export rice price has been continuously adjusted up in recent days, but is still lower than in 2019 and 2020 when the export price of 5% broken rice was from 520 – 530 USD/ton. The price of fragrant rice has also increased to 470 USD to 480 USD/ton, while in 2019 and 2020, the selling price was from 570 USD to 580 USD/ton. Compared to the present time, Vietnam’s export rice of all kinds is still about 100 USD/ton cheaper, and still at a low average level compared to previous rice export prices, so it is not considered high. And the general trend of rice importers now is to sign contracts with a delivery time of 1 to 3 months; from now until the end of the year, the export price of rice is expected to increase further, but the extent of the increase is unpredictable.
