Rice price update on March 24, 2023: Rice prices continue to be stable. Today’s rice prices in the Mekong Delta are stable and sideways. It is forecasted that the winter-spring harvest will end at the end of March, rice prices tend to increase again. In the world market, Vietnam’s export rice prices today have not fluctuated. Currently, the price of 5% broken rice is at 448 USD/ton; 25% broken rice remains at 428 USD/ton. Mr. Nguyen Van Don, Director of Viet Hung Company Limited, said that the winter-spring rice crop is being harvested in full swing with abundant supply and the best quality, so many Chinese and Filipino customers are coming to the West to buy rice, pushing rice prices up. However, paradoxically, customers are asking to buy a lot but are not willing to increase prices, so the export rice price is about 10 – 20 USD/ton lower than at the beginning of the year.
