Statistics show that in the first 5 months of the year, rice exports reached 2.86 million tons, earning 1.39 billion USD, up 10.3% in volume but down 1% in value compared to the same period last year. The Philippines is still Vietnam’s largest rice consumer market in the first four months of the year, accounting for 41.9% of the market share. During this period, rice exports to the Philippines reached 915,500 tons and 422.2 million USD, up 28.3% in volume and 11% in value over the same period last year. In the first four months of the year, the market with the strongest increase in rice export value was the US (62.6%).
