Currently, the export price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam is stable at 423 USD/ton, 25% broken rice remains at 403 USD/ton and 100% broken rice is stable at 378 USD/ton. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Director of Phuoc Thanh IV Production and Trading Company Limited said that the Philippines’ tax reduction for India and exporting countries outside Southeast Asia will have an impact on rice exports of Vietnam and many countries in the region. Currently, the Philippines is a major export market of Vietnam, with Vietnam exporting an average of 2.3 – 2.5 million tons of rice to this market each year. Therefore, Vietnam is the country most affected by this tax reduction regulation. In terms of product segment, the Philippine market often imports low-quality rice from India.
