Rice price update on June 11, 2023: Slow rice market trading Today’s rice prices in the Mekong Delta remained stable. Last week, rice prices decreased for sticky rice and increased for rice. Last week, Vietnamese rice deliveries to the Philippines, China and Malaysia all increased sharply compared to the same period last year, while deliveries to African markets were much lower than the same period. Regarding export rice prices, delivery prices of sticky rice, broken sticky rice and OM5451 all tended to decrease compared to the previous week, while the delivery prices of fragrant rice varieties fluctuated upward. Last week’s rice import prices recorded a decrease of 5 – 15 USD/ton compared to the previous week. Rice imports from Cambodia decreased sharply compared to before. In May, the recorded rice import volume was only about 30% compared to April. In the export market, the export price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam is being offered at 498 USD/ton.
