rice price today August 6, 2022: Rice export price to EU increased by 6%. Today’s rice price in the Mekong Delta provinces increased with by-products. According to traders, rice prices increased today due to lower supply, but transactions were still slow. In the world market, Vietnam’s export rice prices remained stable after a downward adjustment session. Specifically, the price of 5% broken rice was 398 USD/ton; 25% broken rice was 383 USD/ton; 100% broken rice was 383 USD/ton. Thanks to effectively taking advantage of the advantages of the EVFTA Agreement, Vietnam’s rice exports to the European Union (EU) have had a strong breakthrough in recent times. In the first 6 months of 2022 alone, Vietnamese enterprises exported more than 50,000 tons of rice to the EU market, earning nearly 37 million USD, a sharp increase of 84% in volume and 96% in value over the same period in 2021. Of which, nearly half were fragrant rice varieties (ST25, ST24, ST20, Dai Thom 8, Jasmine…), the rest were white rice, Japanese rice varieties, brown rice, organic rice… Consumer tastes in the EU are mainly for high-value and high-quality rice varieties, so the average export price of Vietnamese rice to this market is up to 729 USD/ton, higher than the average of 489 USD/ton of the whole country. Notably, while the average export price of rice nationwide decreased by 10.2% in the first 6 months of the year, the export price of Vietnamese rice to the EU still recorded an increase of 6%. #rice price #agriculture #nhanong #mientay #rice #gaonguyenlieu #gaothanhpham
