rice price today August 14, 2022: Thai rice price continues to increase, surpassing Vietnamese rice by more than 25 USD/ton. Today’s rice price in the Mekong Delta provinces continues to remain stable. The Vietnamese rice market continues to be quiet. Meanwhile, Thailand, a direct competitor to Vietnamese rice, has continuously increased prices in the past 2 weeks. The export price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam is at 393 USD/ton, while the export price of 5% broken rice from Thailand has reached 439 USD/ton. Thai rice prices increased again in August, believed to be due to positive changes in the Middle East market, specifically the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In June, trade officials from the UAE and Thailand met to plan rice trade between the two countries. Vietnam’s rice exports have grown well since the beginning of the year in high-end markets such as the EU, the US, Japan, etc., but the output is not large enough to compensate for the decline in the Chinese market. In the first half of this year, China reduced rice imports from Vietnam and increased imports of cheap rice from Pakistan. #rice price #agriculture #nhanong #mientay #rice #gaonguyenlieu #gaothanhpham
