Rice price update on April 24, 2023: Rice prices remain unchanged Rice prices in the Mekong Delta today continued to remain unchanged. In the world market, Vietnam’s export rice prices today stagnated and remained flat after an upward adjustment session. Accordingly, 5% broken rice is at 473 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 453 USD/ton. Export rice prices from Vietnam rose to a two-year high this week as supply decreased, raising concerns about demand from major customers, while Bangladesh advised farmers in the Northeast region to harvest rice earlier due to the threat of flash floods. Businesses said the winter-spring harvest – Vietnam’s largest harvest of the year – is almost over. However, demand for Vietnamese rice remains strong, while domestic supply is low. With Vietnamese rice prices remaining high, it is likely that customers including the Philippines may slow down their purchases. #rice_price #western_farmers #market_prices
