Rice price update on April 22, 2023: Rice prices remain unchanged. Today’s rice prices in the Mekong Delta continue to remain unchanged. According to businesses, today’s rice volume is low, and the ports are empty of rice. Rice prices tend to decrease at the end of the week. In the world market, Vietnam’s export rice prices today stagnated and remained unchanged after an upward adjustment session. Accordingly, 5% broken rice is at 473 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 453 USD/ton. In the first 18 days of April, the amount of rice delivered to major markets such as the Philippines, China, and Malaysia all increased sharply compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, the amount delivered to Africa tended to decrease. Last week, rice deliveries to the Philippines decreased compared to the previous week. Transactions with new customers were stable. Customers asking to buy OM 18 and glutinous rice slowed down, while demand for fragrant broken rice was high.
