Rice price update on April 20, 2023: Rice prices remain unchanged. Today’s rice prices in the Mekong Delta remain unchanged after yesterday’s downward adjustment. According to businesses, today’s rice supply is low, prices of all types of rice have decreased, and purchasing stocks are weak. In the world market, Vietnam’s export rice prices have leveled off and remained unchanged after an upward adjustment. Accordingly, 5% broken rice is at 473 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 453 USD/ton. According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, in March 2023 alone, the country exported 961,608 tons of rice, equivalent to 509 million USD, up 81% in volume, 93.6% in value, and 7% in price over the same period last year. In March 2023, rice exports to the Philippines increased sharply by 79.7% in volume and 74.9% in value compared to February 2023, reaching 491,279 tons, equivalent to 245.74 million USD. In the first quarter of 2023, the country’s rice export volume reached over 1.85 million tons, equivalent to nearly 982 million USD, up 23.4% in volume and 34.3% in value compared to the first quarter of 2022.
