Rice price update on April 18, 2023: Rice prices are stable. Today’s rice prices in the Mekong Delta are stable after a slight increase yesterday. In the world market, Vietnam’s export rice prices today have leveled off and remained unchanged after an upward adjustment. Accordingly, 5% broken rice is at 473 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 453 USD/ton. Statistics show that in the first quarter of the year, rice exports reached 1.79 million tons with a turnover of 952 million USD, up 19.3% in volume and 30.2% in value over the same period in 2022. China and the Philippines are Vietnam’s largest rice consuming markets. Currently, the proportion of high-quality rice such as fragrant rice, sticky rice, and specialty rice accounts for 50% of Vietnam’s total rice exports.
