Rice price update on April 16, 2023: Rice prices have not fluctuated. Today’s rice prices in the Mekong Delta continue to be stable and sideways. In the world market, Vietnam’s export rice prices today have leveled off and remained sideways after an upward adjustment session. Accordingly, 5% broken rice is at 473 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 453 USD/ton. While Vietnam’s rice prices remain stable, last week, Thai and Pakistani rice prices continuously increased. Currently, Vietnam’s 5% broken rice and 25% broken rice are 11-17 USD/ton lower than the same type of Thai rice and 4-20 USD/ton lower than Pakistani rice. Last week, deliveries to the Philippines, China and Malaysia accounted for 76% of Vietnam’s total rice exports. Rice export prices to major markets all recorded increases. Jasmine rice to the African market decreased by 5-10 USD/ton compared to the previous week. In the Philippine market, rice deliveries to the Philippine market continued to increase compared to the previous week. Delivery prices of Dai Thom 8 and OM 18 fluctuated in opposite directions. In the Chinese market, rice deliveries to this market were quite stable in the past 2 weeks.
