According to the Vietnam Food Association, the export rice offering price of 5% broken rice is at 428 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is at 408 USD/ton. According to estimates from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), US rice imports this year are expected to reach 1.3 million tons, an increase of about 33% over last year. Thus, this number could continue to increase to a record high of 1.4 million tons in 2023, mostly fragrant rice and specialty rice from Asia. US consumer demand for fragrant and specialty rice has been steadily increasing over the years due to changes in the region.
