For white pepper, the World Pepper Community kept the same price for Vietnamese white pepper (5,300 USD/ton) and Malaysian white pepper (7,600 USD/ton), while the listed price decreased by 2 USD/ton to 6,213 USD/ton for Muntok pepper (Indonesia). Our country’s pepper market share is being affected as Brazil’s export prices are more competitive than Vietnam’s by about 200 – 300 USD/ton. The reason is that this country has recently increased its inventory from the previous crop to make room for the new crop. In the first 15 days of September 2022, Vietnam’s pepper exports reached 5,983 tons of pepper, with a turnover of 23.9 million USD. Meanwhile, pepper exports in the first half of August 2022 reached 7,469 tons of pepper of all kinds, with a turnover of 29.89 million USD.
