Regarding white pepper, the World Pepper Community kept the same price for Vietnamese white pepper (5,300 USD/ton) and Malaysian white pepper (7,600 USD/ton). Weak demand along with instability in export markets caused domestic and world pepper prices to continuously plummet. According to preliminary data report of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, pepper exports in May 2022 reached 18,693 tons of all kinds of pepper, down 320 tons, or 1.68% compared to the previous month, but up 1,209 tons, or 6.91% compared to the same period last year. The export turnover value in the month reached 76.09 million USD, down 4.04 million USD, or 5.04% compared to the previous month, and up 10.15 million USD, or 15.40% compared to the same period last year. The total export volume of pepper in the first 8 months of 2022 reached 160,891 tons of all kinds, down 36,781 tons, or 18.61% compared to the export volume in the first 8 months of 2021. In terms of export value, the first 8 months of 2022 reached a total of 714.54 million USD, up 57.09 million USD, or 8.58% over the same period. The average export price of pepper in August 2022 reached 4,070 USD/ton, down 3.42% compared to the average export price in July 2022. The “Zero covid” policy of China, the leading pepper import market, has caused the country’s pepper exports to continue to stagnate, in addition to the global economic recession that has caused demand for spices to stagnate as consumers are forced to save on spending. #pepper #pepper #news #agriculture #nhanong #mientay #taynguyen #pepper #pepper price today #pepper price #pepper today #udaklak pepper price #ubinhphuoc pepper price #dongnai pepper price #freshest pepper price today #freshest pepper price #vungtau pepper price #gialai pepper price #udaknong pepper price
