Pepper prices today, September 15, decreased in Ba Ria – Vung Tau. Currently, domestic pepper prices fluctuate around 65,500 – 68,000 VND/kg. According to the latest news from the Vietnam Pepper Association, the market last week showed mixed reactions. In South Asia, Indian pepper prices were stable. Meanwhile, after 3 weeks of decline, domestic pepper prices in Sri Lanka also stabilized again. In Southeast Asia, after 3 weeks of stability, Indonesian pepper prices increased last week due to scarce supply and increased demand. Domestic black pepper prices in Malaysia increased during the week, while other types were stable and unchanged. In Vietnam, domestic and international pepper prices in Vietnam decreased for 4 weeks. The Vietnam Pepper Association assessed that the reason was due to the 1% decrease of the Vietnamese Dong compared to the USD (23,580 VND/USD). Recently, in addition to Indonesia, Indian pepper prices have also improved significantly. According to the assessment of the Vietnam Pepper Association, Vietnam’s pepper exports are losing market share because the Brazilian and Indonesian markets offer more competitive prices and cheaper freight rates than Vietnam. According to preliminary statistics of the Vietnam Pepper Association, in August 2022, Vietnam imported 2,167 tons, of which black pepper reached 1,935 tons and white pepper reached 232 tons. Compared to the previous month, the import volume decreased by 51.3% and the turnover decreased by 49.8%. Cambodia, Brazil and Indonesia continue to be the three main countries supplying pepper to Vietnam, reaching 24,463 tons. The total import volume from these three markets accounts for 87.6%, of which imports from Cambodia reached 12,221 tons, up 168%, Brazil reached 7,393 tons, up 34.8%, Indonesia reached 4,898 tons, down 31.3%. Since early August 2022, the European, US and Middle Eastern markets have shown signs of shifting supply to Brazil to purchase new crop due to lower logistics costs and prices. European and US importers have signed contracts with Vietnamese exporters until the end of this year. Meanwhile, purchasing power from the Chinese market is weak. Therefore, pepper prices in the domestic market are unlikely to increase again in the short term. #pepper #pepper #news #agriculture #nhanong #mientay #taynguyen #pepper #pepper price today #pepper price #pepper today #udaklak pepper price #ubinhphuoc pepper price #dongnai pepper price #freshest pepper price today #freshest pepper price #vungtau pepper price #gialai pepper price #udaknong pepper price
