Pepper prices today, October 4, in the domestic market were adjusted down by 500 VND/kg. Currently, domestic pepper prices are gradually decreasing to the 60,000 VND/kg mark. In the world market, pepper prices continue to move negatively when they are adjusted down in many countries. At the trading session on October 3, the World Pepper Community listed 15 USD/ton for Indonesian Lampung black pepper and a sharp decrease of 800 USD/ton for Malaysian pepper. Accordingly, Malaysian black pepper is at 5,100 USD/ton. In other countries, pepper prices remain stable. Currently, Vietnamese black pepper 500g/l is at 3,300 USD/ton, black pepper 550g/l is at 3,400 USD/ton. Brazilian black pepper is 2,650 USD/ton. Regarding white pepper, Muntok white pepper (Indonesia) decreased by 24 USD/ton to 6,195 USD/ton; Malaysian white pepper decreased by 300 USD/ton to 7,300 USD/ton. Meanwhile, Vietnamese white pepper is stable at 4,900 USD/ton. Weak consumption demand is still a factor holding back the recovery of pepper prices at present and in the medium term. In the short term, world pepper prices are forecast to continue to decrease due to the strong increase in the USD. The Fed’s interest rate hike to limit inflation has pushed the USD back into the US. However, exports in the first half of September 2022 reached 5,983 tons of pepper of all kinds, with a turnover value of 23.87 million USD, bringing pepper exports in the first 8.5 months of the year to 166,672 tons, down 18.30% in volume but up 7.98% in value over the same period last year. Currently, the global pepper market continues to be under pressure due to geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe and China’s “Zero Covid” policy. After a long period of inactivity, Chinese traders have also returned to purchasing in Vietnam and Indonesia. However, purchasing power remains limited and demand from other regions such as the US and the European Union (EU) has not increased. Previously, commenting on the global pepper market in the coming time, Ms. Firna Azura Ekaputri Hj. Marzuki, Executive Director of the International Pepper Community (IPC), said that the market will continue to be in a downward price zone in the third quarter of this year. According to the IPC representative, China has returned to buying pepper, but this may not be enough to boost the market as Brazil and Indonesia are entering the harvest season in 2022. IPC expects the pepper market to stabilize and increase in November and December. However, up to now, experts say that looking at the macro-economic picture, the pepper market is not very bright until early 2023. #pepper #hotpepper #tintuc #nongnghiep #nhanong #mientay #taynguyen #pepper #pepper price today #pepper price #pepper price today #udaklak pepper #ubinhphuoc pepper #dongnai pepper #mointest pepper price today #mointest pepper price #vungtau pepper #giatieugialai pepper #udaknong pepper
