Pepper prices today, October 26, 2022, continue to decrease in the world. Domestically, pepper prices are stable, continuing to be purchased around 56,500 – 59,000 VND/kg. In the world market, Pepper prices today are still on a downward trend compared to yesterday. Accordingly, the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) is decreasing slightly by 0.14%, to 3,660 USD/ton. According to data from the Brazilian State Center for Foreign Trade Statistics (Comex Stat), in September 2022, Brazil’s pepper exports increased by 34% compared to the previous month to 8,063 tons – the highest level since the beginning of the year. However, in the first 9 months of the year, Brazil’s pepper exports still decreased slightly by 3.4% compared to the same period last year, reaching 59,739 tons. In recent months, Brazil’s black pepper has become competitive in the world market thanks to low prices and abundant supply as the country is in the midst of its largest harvest of the year. Also in September, Brazil’s pepper export price averaged 3,298 USD/ton (FOB), down 6% compared to the previous month and the lowest level since July 2021. The average pepper export price to Vietnam is 3,243 USD/ton (FOB), down 4.8 USD/ton. In the world market, Brazilian pepper is currently being offered at 2,600 USD/ton, down 250 USD/ton compared to mid-September. This price is also significantly lower than 3,250 – 3,350 USD/ton for 500 – 550g/l black pepper from Vietnam and 3,824 USD/ton from Indonesia. In the first 16 days of October 2022, Vietnam exported 7,158 tons of pepper, with an export turnover of 27.2 million USD. Olam, Pearl, XNK Logistics, and Phuc Sinh are major exporters in the month. China, Singapore, the US, and Hong Kong are the main import markets in the first 16 days of October 2022. Vietnam is the world’s largest pepper producer and exporter, accounting for about 50-60% of the total pepper output traded worldwide. However, the pepper industry is facing major challenges, including a lack of sustainability and failure to meet the increasingly high demands of markets. According to experts, the pressure of loan interest rates will put many economies at risk of recession, forcing consumers to tighten spending and investors to cut back on speculative portfolios, causing pepper prices to continuously decline, possibly lasting until the 2023 crop season. #pepper #hotpepper #tintuc #nongnghiep #nhanong #mientay #taynguyen #pepper #giatieuhomnay #giatieu #giatieungayhomnay #giatieuudaklak #giatieuubinhphuoc #giatieudongnai #giatieumoinhathomnay #giatieumoinhat #giatieuuvungtau #giatieugialai #giatieuudaknong
