Pepper price today June 8, 2022: Prices decreased by 500 VND/kg

Pepper prices today, June 8, 2022, in the domestic market decreased slightly by 500 VND/kg. Currently, domestic pepper prices are trading around 71,500 – 75,000 VND/kg. The domestic pepper market has turned down after a day of slight increases in some places. The fact that export units have collected enough goods while the factor of buying from China is unclear has caused domestic pepper prices to immediately decrease. According to preliminary statistics of the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA), Vietnam’s pepper exports in May 2022 reached 21,929 tons of pepper of all kinds. Of which, black pepper reached 18,855 tons, white pepper reached 3,074 tons. Total export turnover reached 98.7 million USD, black pepper reached 80.3 million USD, white pepper reached 18.4 million USD. Compared to the previous month, our country’s pepper export volume decreased by 11.6%, and the turnover decreased by 14.3%. Although the export volume decreased, there were 3 enterprises exporting over 2,000 tons in the month, led by Olam Vietnam with 2,694 tons, followed by Tran Chau with 2,615 tons and Phuc Sinh with 2,106 tons. Pepper imports of the US market in May reached 5,781 tons, up 11.2% compared to April and continued to be the main export market of Vietnamese pepper. Next were the Arab markets: 2,085 tons, India: 1,745 tons, Germany: 1,132 tons… By the end of May 2022, Vietnam exported 101,339 tons of pepper of all kinds. Total export turnover in the first 5 months of 2022 reached 468.4 million USD, black pepper reached 373.8 million USD, white pepper reached 94.6 million USD.
