Pepper prices today, June 5, 2022, in the domestic market remained at 71,500 – 75,000 VND/kg. This week, the domestic pepper market increased sharply by 1,500 – 2,000 VND/kg. The domestic pepper market increased well this week, increasing by 1,500 VND/kg in the Central Highlands region, and increasing by 2,000 VND/kg in the Southeast region. Along with the domestic increase, the World Pepper Community listed the export prices of black pepper and white pepper from Vietnam this week to increase by 50 USD/ton. Correspondingly, 4,150 USD/ton for 550g/l black pepper and an increase of 5,950 USD/ton for white pepper. According to preliminary statistics, pepper exports in May 2022 reached 22,919 tons, with the export turnover value in the month reaching 106.3 million USD. In the first 5 months of this year, 102,329 tons of pepper of all kinds were exported, with an export turnover value of 476 million USD, an increase of 25.7%. Pepper exports in April 2022 reached 24,630 tons of pepper of all kinds. Thus, the export output in the month decreased slightly. However, there was still positive information from the recovery of the Chinese economy, the reopening of border gates adjacent to Vietnam, giving the market a “new wind”. Although the factor of increased purchases from China is not really specific and clear, it also helps to motivate the market. This week, domestic pepper prices have increased for 4 consecutive days. However, it is predicted that the market will face many challenges next week. Because the factor of increased purchases from China is still unclear, exports have collected enough goods in the month, inflation is high… It is expected that import and export activities will soon return to normal so that Vietnam can continue to maintain its position as the world’s leading pepper producer and exporter. Regarding world pepper, this week the market fluctuated in opposite directions when pepper prices from Indonesia and Vietnam increased, while Indian pepper prices had another week of slight decrease, becoming the 4th consecutive week of decline. #pepper #hotpepper #news #nongnghiep #nhanong #mientay #taynguyen
