The increase in Chinese market purchases has little impact on the global level, but at least for Vietnam it has made buying and selling activities more vibrant. The domestic pepper market continues to receive growth momentum, increasing by 1,000 VND/kg in Ba Ria – Vung Tau and increasing by 500 VND/kg in other key regions. Yesterday, the International Pepper Community also listed Vietnam’s black and white pepper export prices up by 100 USD/ton, equivalent to 3,750 USD/ton for 550g/l black pepper and 5,800 USD/ton for white pepper. This is the same price as at the end of June 2022. Although the increased purchasing power in the Chinese market has a negligible impact compared to the global market, it is helping the Vietnamese pepper market become more vibrant.
