Pepper prices today, August 23, 2022, in the domestic and world markets fluctuated little. In particular, domestic pepper prices continued to trade around 68,000 – 71,000 VND/kg. In the world market, Pepper prices today fluctuated little. Since the beginning of this week, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has continued to maintain the export pepper prices of Vietnam, Malaysia and India. And slightly adjusted down the export pepper prices of Brazil and Indonesia. According to IPC, the total global supply in 2022 is estimated at 535 thousand tons, down nearly 3% compared to 2021 and the decrease mainly comes from Vietnam and India. In general, global demand is weaker than previous years, especially the decline in purchasing power from the Chinese market. Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the average FOB price of black pepper and white pepper in the second quarter of 2022 of producing countries decreased simultaneously, except for Malaysia. The decrease was about 2% for black pepper and 3% for white pepper. Also in the second quarter of 2022, Brazilian pepper prices were the lowest traded on the market with the average FOB price of black pepper in the second quarter of 2022 at 3,760 USD/ton, down 5% compared to the first quarter. Meanwhile, the average FOB price of Indian black pepper was traded at 6,836 USD/ton, nearly double the average FOB price of Brazilian black pepper, and the highest in the world. With the advantage of cheap prices and shipping costs in the Americas, Brazilian pepper is competing fiercely with other countries, including Vietnam. This year’s harvest in Brazil is assessed to have a relatively positive output. The estimated harvest output in Espirito Santo state is 72,000 tons. Since the beginning of the year, Brazilian pepper exports to the UAE, Germany, the US, Pakistan, etc. have all decreased sharply, while increasing in Vietnam and India. In particular, Vietnam is the largest importer of pepper from Brazil in the first 5 months of 2022. Domestic pepper prices have been flat for the second session, and the highest pepper purchase price is still at 71,000 VND/kg. Overall, last week, domestic pepper prices are decreasing by 1,000 – 1,500 VND/kg. In the context of Brazilian pepper prices being very competitive, Mr. Nguyen Tan Hien – General Director of Tran Chau Group Joint Stock Company once warned that the possibility that Brazil could take over important markets of Vietnam is entirely possible if Brazil changes its technology to overcome ETO. #pepper #pepper #news #agriculture #nhanong #mientay #taynguyen #pepper #pepper price today #pepper price #pepper today #udaklak pepper price #ubinhphuoc pepper price #dongnai pepper price #freshest pepper price today #freshest pepper price #vungtau pepper price #gialai pepper price #udaknong pepper price
