Pepper prices today, August 14, 2022, in the domestic market turned down by 500 – 1,000 VND/kg. Currently, domestic pepper prices are trading around 69,000 – 72,000 VND/kg. Domestic pepper prices are going down, while the prices of black pepper and white pepper in our country are still being kept unchanged by the World Pepper Community. Overall this week, domestic pepper prices have dropped sharply by 2,000 VND/kg in Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau; and decreased by 2,500 VND/kg in Gia Lai, Binh Phuoc. According to data released by the Vietnam Pepper Association, our country’s pepper export volume in July 2022 decreased by 23.1%, and the turnover decreased by 21.7% compared to the previous month. Notably, exports to the Chinese market in July slowed down after a sharp increase in June 2022; only 1,227 tons of pepper were consumed. By the end of July 2022, Vietnam exported 144,176 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 123,251 tons and white pepper reached 20,925 tons. Total export turnover reached 647.4 million USD, black pepper reached 523.1 million USD, white pepper reached 124.3 million USD.
