According to statistics from the Vietnam Pepper Association, our country imported 3,447 tons in June 2022, of which black pepper reached 2,905 tons and white pepper reached 542 tons. Compared to the previous month, the import volume decreased by 40.0% and the turnover decreased by 42.2%. Olam, Thai Sang and Quynh Trung are the three main importing enterprises, the main source of supply for enterprises is Cambodia – accounting for 56.7%, followed by Indonesia at 28.6%. By the end of June 2022, Vietnam imported 21,299 tons of pepper, of which black pepper reached 18,045 tons and white pepper reached 3,254 tons. Compared to the same period last year, the import volume increased by 25.9%, equivalent to 4,378 tons. In the first 6 months of 2022, Vietnam imported pepper mainly from Cambodia, reaching 9,604 tons, up 148.4%, Brazil reached 5,292 tons, up 7.6% and from Indonesia reached 3,950 tons, down 37.6%. Meanwhile, Olam is the largest importer, accounting for 38% of the market share and reaching 8,092 tons, up 4.2% over the same period last year. Followed by Tran Chau enterprises reaching 1,616 tons and KSS reaching 1,176 tons.
