Pepper export price hits 9-month low In June 2022, the average export price of Vietnam’s pepper reached 4,134 USD/ton – the lowest level since October 2021, down 8.2% compared to May 2022, but up 15.5% compared to June 2021. In the last days of July, black pepper prices decreased sharply compared to the end of June 2022. High inflation and concerns about global economic recession negatively affected pepper prices. On July 23, black pepper prices in the domestic market decreased by 1,000 – 2,000 VND/kg (depending on the surveyed area) compared to June 30, 2022, down to 68,500 – 71,000 VND/kg.
