fertilizer prices today, May 4, 2022: How to cope with the fertilizer “price storm”? The increase in fertilizer prices has a significant impact on agricultural production in general and rice in particular, but it is impossible to intervene in the price of this commodity by administrative measures. So, is there any way to help farmers cope with the fertilizer “price storm”? With production costs increasing by about 10 million VND/hectare, equivalent to 1 million VND/cong, meanwhile, the Department of Crop Production announced that the average winter-spring rice yield of 2021-2022 in the Mekong Delta is estimated at nearly 7.2 tons/hectare, meaning that each cone of rice in the Mekong Delta will yield an average of 720 kg. This means that the production cost of winter-spring rice in 2021-2022 increased by more than 1,300 VND/kg compared to the winter-spring crop in 2020-2021 (the cost of winter-spring crop in 2020-2021 was 3,068 VND/kg), meaning the production cost of winter-spring crop in 2021-2022 is about 4,400 VND/kg. The average selling price of rice according to the Department of Crop Production’s estimate is 5,500 VND/kg, while the production cost is 4,400 VND/kg, meaning the profit farmers get is only about 1,100 VND/kg of rice. Thus, with an average rice yield of 720 kg/cong (7.2 tons/hectare), farmers get a profit of less than 800,000 VND/cong or 8 million/hectare. #fertilizer_price #farmers #western region #fertilizer_price #fertilizer #fertilizer #fertilizer #potassium_price #agriculture #fertilizer #agricultural materials
