fertilizer prices today, May 18, 2022: Fertilizer prices remained stable after factories adjusted down at the beginning of the week. Vietnam’s DAP imports have remained low since the end of 2021 as China continues to restrict exports and there is continued information about extending customs clearance times at the China-Vietnam border gate. In the world market, DAP, sulfur, and yellow phosphorus fertilizer prices all increased. According to Sunsirs, sulfur prices in China on May 17 increased by 1% compared to the previous day and traded at 584 USD/ton. Last week, sulfur prices also increased by 3.3%. DAP increased by 4.6% to 576 USD/ton while last week, the price of this item remained unchanged. Yellow phosphorus traded at 5,769 USD/ton, up 1.7% compared to the previous day. Last week, yellow phosphorus increased by 1.8%. Urea prices were unchanged from the previous day at $482 per ton. Urea prices fell 0.1% from the end of last week. Chloroform, a solvent used in pesticides and dyes, was flat at $639 per ton, down 11.3% from the end of last week and has been falling since mid-April. Sulfuric acid, a chemical used in fertilizer production, was unchanged from May 16 at $158 per ton but down 1.8% from the end of last week. Last week, the price of this commodity also fell 8.2%. According to Investing, the price of urea futures in the Middle East on May 16 was $705 per ton, the same as the end of last week.
