fertilizer prices today, March 19, 2022: Potassium and NPK fertilizers continue to increase due to severe supply shortages. The world Fertilizer market is being affected by the war in Ukraine. On March 2, the European Union (EU) passed new sanctions against Belarus for its role in Russia’s special military campaign in Ukraine. The sanctions target “a number of economic sectors, in particular, including Belarus’s potash production”. Due to this impact, some fertilizer products have increased compared to the beginning of the year. Of which, DAP increased by 50%, urea increased by 87%, potassium by 95%, UAN28 by 97%. The two types of UAN32 and dry fertilizer increased by 104% and 139%, respectively. Sources say that sanctions on Belarusian fertilizers will affect the world market and cause supply shortages because Belarus produces about 7 million tons of potash per year and is in the top 3 countries producing the most of this item in the world. In addition, Russia is one of the world’s largest suppliers of fertilizers and related raw materials such as sulfur, so the war in Ukraine will affect the world market. In 2021, Russia was the world’s largest exporter of urea and NPK. In terms of sulfur, the country ranked 4th globally in terms of export output. Before the war in Ukraine, Brazil, a country that imports about 85% of its domestic consumption, is having to find new sources of supply because it imports about 1/5 of the total amount it needs to buy from Russia. ************************************************ Western Farmer Channel Updates the latest market prices of all types of fertilizers every day for you. *********************************************** Thank you everyone for taking the time to watch the channel’s videos.
