Imported DAP prices delivered to Vietnam in early 2022 are still on an upward trend while import volume remains limited. World MOP prices in mid-January 2022 are still on an upward trend but seem to have reached a ceiling for buyers in Brazil, Europe and Southeast Asia. In 2021, the country’s fertilizer imports reached 4.54 million tons, with a turnover of 1.45 billion USD, and an average price of 319.7 USD/ton. China is the main market supplying all kinds of fertilizers to Vietnam, accounting for 44.5% of the total volume and 42% of the total fertilizer import turnover of the country, reaching 2.02 million tons, worth 610.29 million USD, average price 302 USD/ton, increasing in both volume, turnover and price compared to 2020, with corresponding increases of 27.3%, 65.6% and 30%; in December 2021 alone, fertilizer imports from this market reached 167,801 tons, equivalent to 65.92 million USD, priced at 392.8 USD/ton, up 1.6% in volume, up 10.2% in turnover and up 8.4% in price compared to November 2021.
