Latest fertilizer prices on February 18, 2022: Fertilizer prices of all kinds continue to remain stable. High fertilizer prices are forcing farmers to adjust their planting plans. Many choose to grow crops that require less nutrients or reduce fertilizer use to save costs. Reducing fertilizer use can lead to lower yields and less agricultural output, pushing up food prices. According to DTN, the average prices of 4 out of 8 fertilizers in the week ending February 11 remained the same as the previous week, 3 increased and the remaining decreased. In the week ending February 11, the average prices of urea, dry fertilizer, UAN28, UAN32 remained the same as the previous week and traded at $905/ton, $1,487/ton, $600/ton and $699/ton, respectively. The three types that increased were MAP, potassium and 10-34-0, trading at 935 USD/ton, 815 USD/ton and 827 USD/ton, respectively. The above types recorded increases from 1 USD/ton to 2 USD/ton. DAP was the only type that decreased compared to last week with 1 USD/ton and was at 876 USD/ton. Since the beginning of the year, dry fertilizer has increased the most with more than 4%. Base fertilizer 10-34-0 increased by 32 USD/ton, equivalent to 4%. The remaining types decreased by less than 3%.
