According to Bloomberg, the North American fertilizer price index on the Green Markets channel in the week ending April 1 was $1,269.8/ton, down $0.6/ton. Compared to before the war in Ukraine broke out, the price of this item increased by more than 40%. The world Fertilizer market is being affected by the war in Ukraine. On March 2, the European Union (EU) passed new sanctions against Belarus because it believed that this country had a role in Russia’s special military campaign in Ukraine. The sanctions target “a number of economic sectors, in particular, including Belarus’s potash production”. DTN believes that sanctions on Belarusian fertilizers will affect the world market and cause a shortage of supply because Belarus produces about 7 million tons of potash per year and is in the top 3 countries producing the most of this item in the world. Besides, Russia is one of the world’s largest suppliers of fertilizers and related raw materials such as sulfur, so the war in Ukraine will affect the world market. #fertilizer_price #farmers #western_region #fertilizer_price #fertilizer #fertilizer #fertilizer #potassium_price #agriculture #fertilizer #agricultural materials
