fertilizer prices today, April 22, 2022: Fertilizer prices of all kinds continue to stagnate at high levels after potash fertilizers were adjusted up yesterday. Russia-Ukraine tensions will keep wholesale fertilizer prices high. The world ammonium Fertilizer market was shocked when Norwegian chemical group Yara International and the largest US potash and phosphate fertilizer producer, Mosaic, agreed to trade ammonium at $1,625/ton for April in Tampa, Florida. Compared to February, this price has increased by $490/ton and is also an unprecedented high price, according to Fertecon’s price tracking history. The two companies had failed to reach an agreement on commodity trading for March and Mosaic closed the purchase from chemical company Trammo at an ammonium price of $1,135/ton (CFR). Record fertilizer prices were almost inevitable as sales exploded into the four-digits in northwestern Europe. The escalating Russia-Ukraine tensions and Western sanctions disrupted Russian fertilizer supplies. Black Sea ammonia trade was completely halted after Russia launched its military campaign in Ukraine, forcing Fertecon to maintain “non-market” status throughout March as there was no way to assess market valuations in the region. Meanwhile, Baltic ammonium prices rose to $1,500 per tonne (FOB) from $1,120 per tonne. However, higher prices have begun to make buyers reluctant to import, and trading has also stopped in recent weeks. Global ammonium prices are expected to remain flat in the near term as demand falls as prices rise rapidly and serious supply issues remain unresolved. #fertilizer_price #farmers #western region #fertilizer_price #fertilizer #fertilizer #fertilizer #potassium_price #agriculture #fertilizer #agricultural materials
