fertilizer prices today, April 9, 2022: Fertilizer prices show no signs of cooling down, agriculture is facing difficulties. Fertilizer prices have been continuously increasing sharply and showing no signs of “cooling down”, causing millions of farmers to fall into a miserable situation when facing the risk of having to compensate for production losses. Since the end of 2021, fertilizer prices have been continuously “escalating”, causing many difficulties for farmers’ agricultural production activities. With the current high fertilizer prices while agricultural product prices are unstable and output is unstable, farmers do not make a profit. This also significantly affects the care and supplementation of nutrients for crops at times that determine productivity and output. Fertilizer accounts for 20 – 25% of the cost of rice production. With current prices, farmers are forced to reduce the amount of fertilizer for plants, because if they fertilize enough as before, investment costs will increase and profits will decrease. Not to mention other services such as: Cost of pesticides, land preparation, sowing, harvesting… all increased in price. Meanwhile, the current selling price of rice is still low, so farmers only have to break even (in case of a good harvest). Analyzing this impact more clearly, Director of the Department of Crop Production (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) Nguyen Nhu Cuong said that the fluctuation in fertilizer prices has directly affected the production process. Currently, we are entering the period of caring for crops. For winter-spring rice, it is in the stage of fertilizing to help the plants grow. If not supplemented with enough nutrients, crop yields will certainly decrease. As for corn and tea, this is also the time to increase fertilization to stimulate the growth process. The high price of fertilizer makes farmers hesitate before choosing whether to invest more or less to avoid losses during the production process. #fertilizer_price #farmers #western_region #fertilizer_price #fertilizer #fertilizer #fertilizer #potassium_price #agriculture #fertilizer #agricultural materials
