Ca Mau URE fertilizer also had a new price increase of 500 VND. NPK fertilizer also increased. In the first 2 months of this year, the amount of fertilizer exported from China to Vietnam decreased by 17.5%, down to 205,881 tons. For Vietnam, China’s fertilizer exports to Vietnam decreased in the first 2 months of this year mainly due to the decrease in DAP fertilizer, with a decrease of 76.3% from 68,474 tons in the same period last year to 16,223 tons in the first 2 months of this year. In addition, China’s mineral fertilizer and compound fertilizer exports to Vietnam also decreased sharply due to the country’s control measures. Meanwhile, ammonium sulfate (SA) is the type of fertilizer that Vietnamese enterprises import the most from China with 141,928 tons in 2 months, up 20.2% over the same period last year. In October last year, the General Administration of Customs of China (CGAC) announced that it would inspect the country’s fertilizer export activities from October 15. CGAC listed 29 types of fertilizers and production materials that will be inspected and closely monitored, including: Urea, DAP, MAP, NPK, NP/NPS, MOP, SOP, ammonium chloride and ammonium nitrate. Ammonium sulfate is not on this list. In the face of fluctuations in fertilizer supply and prices on the world market, the Plant Protection Department recommended that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development assess the situation of fertilizer export and import to have flexible response measures for a number of key fertilizer products serving domestic agricultural production.
