Domestic coffee prices today, September 27, remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, domestic coffee prices fluctuate at 47,300 – 47,900 VND/kg. For the world coffee market, coffee prices on both exchanges recorded red. At the end of the trading session, Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange for November delivery had a weekend session of price reduction due to the strong increase in the USD, down 6 USD (-0.27%), closing price at 2,232 USD/ton. Similarly, Arabica coffee prices on the New York exchange followed the downward trend. Arabica coffee futures for December 2022 had a weekend session of price reduction, in line with the red of world commodities, down 3.10 cents (-1.39%), closing price of the previous session at 220.45 cents/lbs. Coffee prices on both exchanges decreased partly because speculative money continued to flee to the US dollar, partly because of concerns that the economic recession would reduce demand as consumers tighten their spending. New York-standard coffee inventories continued to decline at 485,408 bags, the lowest level in 23 years. According to the Conab Agricultural Supply and Forecast Company – Brazil, Brazil’s Arabica coffee output in the 2022-2023 crop year is forecast to reach 32.41 million bags, up 3.1% compared to the previous crop. According to analysts, prices are accumulating sideways in the range of 215-235. In the short term, prices are expected to remain under pressure to fall to 210-212, and in the worse case scenario, they will test the 203-205 range.
