Coffee prices today, September 16, ranged from 47,100 – 47,700 VND/kg, down 100 VND/kg compared to yesterday. For the world coffee market, coffee prices on the two exchanges had contrasting colors. At the end of the most recent trading session, Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange: November spot futures increased by 7 USD, to 2,237 USD/ton and January 2023 futures at 2,223 USD/ton, both relatively slight increases. Trading volume remained below average. However, Arabica coffee prices on the New York exchange began to decline again after many sessions of price increases. Currently, the December spot contract decreased by 0.40 cents to 214.45 cents/lb and the March 2023 contract decreased by 0.75 cents to 209.40 cents/lb, the slight decreases were expected. Trading volume was quite high above average. In addition, the standard inventory on September 13 of the two exchanges: Arabica coffee decreased sharply to 585,215 bags compared to September 12 (602,742 bags); Robusta coffee increased by 240 tons to 89,090 tons. According to experts, Arabica coffee prices may continue to decline due to concerns that the continued weakening of US economic indicators will cause the US Federal Reserve (FED) to be more aggressive in raising interest rates. Robusta coffee prices will also decrease slightly as world supply is increasingly limited. In Vietnam, according to experts, domestic coffee prices are likely to be under pressure only in the short term. This commodity still has a lot of room to increase as global supply next crop is at risk of decreasing, while consumption demand remains stable and may even increase. Thus, our country’s coffee industry is facing many opportunities to increase exports to international markets. The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) predicts that if coffee export prices remain high, the coffee industry can still set a record turnover of 4 billion USD in 2022. At the same time, it said that in the next 10 years, coffee export turnover is likely to reach 5 – 6 billion USD, nearly double the current level. Good news for coffee growers in Dak Lak province, when the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association announced that the “Buon Ma Thuot Coffee” brand has been protected in 32 countries with different forms of protection. Specifically, protection in the form of “Geographical Indication” in 28 countries: including 27 countries in the EU and Thailand; Protection in the form of “Collective trademark” in 3 countries including China, Singapore, Canada; Protection in the form of “Appellation of origin” in Russia. This is necessary for transparency, control of coffee quality, strengthening connection of the market for Buon Ma Thuot coffee products, diversifying processed coffee products to increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese coffee in the international market. At the same time, it is expected that in early October 2022, Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association will launch the 2022 Vietnam Coffee Roasting Competition to create a playground for those who love coffee roasting, contributing to improving the quality of Vietnamese roasted coffee. #coffee_price #coffee_price_today #latest_coffee_price #standard_coffee_price #coffee_price_trend #coffee_price #coffee_price #agriculture #nhannong #mientay #lamdong_coffee_price #edaklak_coffee_price #daknong_coffee_price #gialai_coffee_price #kontum_coffee_price #world_coffee_price
