Fruits from the West have fallen in price and cannot be sold when the main market, wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City, are closed. Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan, a longan grower in Dong Thap, An Nhon commune, Chau Thanh district, has been “sitting on fire” for the past few days. His longan garden of more than a hectare is ready to be harvested, but traders have disappeared. Meanwhile, the price of longan has also plummeted to 10,000-15,000 VND per kilogram, down more than 50% compared to before the outbreak.
