In the world market, Pepper prices today, November 15, are falling sharply compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of black pepper Lampung (Indonesia) has decreased by 4.21%, down to 3,540 USD/ton. Meanwhile, the price of Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA black pepper remained at 5,100 USD/ton. And the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 remained at 2,575 USD/ton. For white pepper, the price of Indonesian Muntok white pepper decreased sharply by 2.52% to 5,824 USD/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA white pepper remained at 7,300 USD/ton. In Vietnam, the price of black pepper was 3,250 – 3,350 USD/ton for 500 g/l and 550 g/l; the price of white pepper was 4,850 USD/ton. By the end of October 2022, Vietnam exported 195,082 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 169,016 tons and white pepper reached 26,066 tons. Total export turnover reached 850.2 million USD, black pepper reached 696.9 million USD, white pepper reached 153.3 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, pepper export volume decreased by 15.9% equivalent to 36,948 tons, but export turnover increased by 6.2%% equivalent to 49.8 million USD. The US is still Vietnam’s leading export market, followed by China and the UAE. The change is the gap between markets. In the first 10 months of this year, China reduced imports from 37,283 tons (2021) to 15,741, a decrease of nearly 22,000 tons compared to last year (57.8%); meanwhile, the decrease in the US market was only 10%, the UAE more than 2%.
