The price of arabica coffee for delivery in September 2022 in New York reached 220.45 US cents/pound, up 3.62% (equivalent to 7.7 US cents) at the time of survey at 7:10 a.m. (Vietnam time). According to the International Trade Center (ITC), in the first 5 months of 2022, US coffee imports reached 3.94 billion USD, up 53.1% over the same period in 2021. Of which, the US imported coffee from Vietnam at 143.82 million USD, up 40%. Vietnam’s coffee market share in the total import value of the US accounted for 3.64% in the first 5 months of 2022, lower than the market share of 3.99% in the first 5 months of 2021. Germany is the largest coffee importer in Europe. Germany’s coffee roasting industry is very large, serving both the European Union (EU) market and other export markets. The German coffee market is expected to grow at an average rate of 3.09% during the 2022-2027 period. According to the International Trade Center, in the first 5 months of 2022, Germany’s coffee imports reached 2.36 billion USD, up 46.6% over the same period in 2021. Of which, Germany imported 239.28 million USD worth of coffee from Vietnam, up 60.5%.
