Specifically, in the South Asian region, Indian pepper prices remained stable after 4 previous weeks of decline. Domestic black pepper in this country is from 6,350 – 6,364 USD/ton; FOB price of black pepper at Kochi port is from 6,608 – 6,621 USD/ton. In Sri Lanka, pepper prices increased after 4 weeks of stagnation. The country’s domestic black pepper increased by 1%, from 4,760 USD/ton to 4,821 USD/ton. In Southeast Asia, the price of Indonesian white pepper continued to trend positively. Meanwhile, the price of Indonesian black pepper remained stable due to shortage of goods and low transactions in the market. Specifically, the country’s domestic black pepper ranged from 3,374 – 3,378 USD/ton; white pepper increased by 1%, from 5,646 to 5,688 USD/ton; FOB price of black pepper at Lampung port was 4,014 – 4,019 USD/ton; FOB price of white pepper at Pinang port increased by 1%, from 6,523 to 6,570 USD/ton. Meanwhile, the price of Malaysian pepper traded domestically and internationally has been stable since mid-May 2022.
