Currently, Vietnam’s 5% broken rice export price is stable at 423 USD/ton, 25% broken rice remains at 403 USD/ton and 100% broken rice is stable at 378 USD/ton. The global food crisis has created opportunities for businesses to increase rice exports. Statistics show that rice exports in the first 5 months of the year reached about 2.8 million tons, bringing in a total export turnover of 1.3 billion USD, up 6.9% in volume. Vietnam’s rice prices remain higher than those of some traditional rice exporting countries such as India, Pakistan, and Myanmar. The Philippines remains Vietnam’s largest customer with exports in the first five months of the year reaching nearly 1.3 million tons, an increase of more than 300,000 tons over the same period in 2021. Rice exports to Africa have increased by more than 76% over the previous year.
