After a sharp price drop of 25 USD/ton for 5% broken rice, 22 USD/ton for 25% broken rice and 10 USD/ton for 100% broken rice, on June 29, 2022, Pakistan’s export rice price dropped below 400 USD/ton, offered at 398 USD/ton, 384 USD/ton and 378 USD/ton (calculated respectively for 5% broken rice, 25% broken rice and 100% broken rice). After 2 downward adjustments, Thailand’s rice export prices have increased slightly by 1-2 USD/ton, of which 5% broken rice and 25% broken rice both increased by 2 USD/ton, exported at 409 USD/ton (5% broken rice and 403 USD/ton (25% broken rice). 100% broken rice increased by 1 USD, sold at 394 USD/ton. With this price, the current price of Vietnamese rice is equivalent to Thai rice and 20-75 USD/ton higher than the same type of rice from India and Pakistan.
