rice price today, July 16, 2022: Vietnamese rice price exceeds Thai rice by 11 USD/ton. Today’s rice price in the Mekong Delta provinces has been adjusted down for raw rice. Meanwhile, export rice prices continue to remain stable. Last week, the domestic rice market continued to slow down, with warehouses reducing purchasing prices by 100 – 200 VND/kg. At the end of the week, prices of all types of rice decreased compared to the beginning of the week. In the world market, the export price of Vietnamese rice remained stable while the price of Thai rice continuously decreased. Specifically, the current export price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam is stable at 418 USD/ton, 11 USD/ton higher than the same type of Thai rice; 25% broken rice is at 403 USD/ton, 4 USD/ton higher than Thai rice; 100% broken rice remains at 383 USD/ton. Thus, Vietnam’s rice prices remain optimistic, with little fluctuation. It is worth noting that from exporting at a price lower than Thailand’s rice by 32 USD/ton in early June 2022, Vietnam’s rice prices have remained stable while Thai rice has had to continuously adjust downwards and is currently being exported at a price 11 USD/ton lower than Vietnam’s rice. In the Asian rice market, rice prices are stable as supply offsets the decline in the Rupee. The forecast for global rice production in the 2021-2022 crop year is expected to be lower than the previous forecast. Global imports and exports are expected to increase due to higher demand from China, Vietnam and the Philippines. More rice exports come from India, Pakistan and Cambodia. #rice price #agriculture #nhanong #mientay #rice #gaonguyenlieu #gaothanhpham
