According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), rice exports from the beginning of the year to August 15, 2022 reached 4.4 million tons, an increase of 19.6% in output over the same period. Export turnover reached 2.1 billion USD, but the average value decreased by about 50 USD/ton. Although rice exports have increased significantly in output, the selling price is not high. Rice farmers are not very efficient due to the high cost of agricultural materials. Vietnam’s rice exports are expected to reach 6.3-6.5 million tons in 2022.
