Rice price update on April 12, 2023: Rice prices continue to increase by 100 VND/kg. Today’s rice prices in the Mekong Delta continue to increase with rice. Currently, traditional customers such as China and the Philippines have increased their purchases. In the world market, Vietnam’s export rice prices today have leveled off and remained unchanged after an upward adjustment session. Accordingly, 5% broken rice is at 473 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 453 USD/ton. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, rice exports in March 2023 reached 900,000 tons, worth 480 million USD, bringing the rice export results in the first 3 months of 2023 to 1.79 million tons and 952 million USD. Rice exports in the first quarter of 2023 decreased by 19.3% in volume but increased by 30.2% in value compared to the same period in 2022. The average export price of rice in the first 3 months of 2023 is estimated at 531 USD/ton, up 9.2% over the same period in 2022. This is the highest average rice export price in the past 10 years. In terms of markets, in the first quarter of 2023, the Philippines, China, and Indonesia are the 3 largest export markets.
