Rice price update on May 1, 2023: Rice prices continue to be stable. Rice prices in the Mekong Delta today continue to be stable. According to the Vietnam Food Association, the export price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam on April 22, 2023 fluctuated around 483-487 USD/ton; Jasmine rice was at 553-557 USD/ton. Enterprises in the Mekong Delta said that supply is increasingly tight as the main harvest of the year is about to end and the next harvest will come in late May or early June. However, the rice export market is favorable, traders have increased purchases from farmers in anticipation of higher demand from foreign markets. As of April 15, Vietnam exported 2.37 million tons of rice this year, up 33.7% over a year earlier. #rice price
